History of mythic skins in Overwatch
At the time of updating this guide, Overwatch has 32 mythic hero skins in total. Mythic skins made their debut back in October 2022 with Cyber Demon Genji and the start of Overwatch 2. The second iteration of the game then reached 20 seasons before it dropped the “2” from its title in February 2026.
Previously, mythic heroes skins and all of their customizations required the reaching tier 80 of the Premium Battle Pass to obtain. That changed at the start of Overwatch 2 Season 10 with the arrival of Vengeance Mercy, who wasn’t part of the seasonal Battle Pass at all. Instead, this marked the start of players having to earn Mythic Prisms via the Battle Pass in order to unlock mythic skins of new and old.
