Magnus Carlsen has won the Esports World Cup 2026 Chess title, beating Denis Lazavik 2-0 in the grand final to become the first player to claim the award back-to-back.
The Team Liquid star entered as the reigning EWC champion. The Norwegian Chess grandmaster didn’t drop a single game across the BO3 final. He won four games and drew four against Lazavik. Carlsen won both sets 2-1 after drawing the remaining games.
