Gold is a mid to late-game resource in Subnautica 2. You’ll need to craft the Advanced Wiring Kit, which in turn is required to craft upgrades for the Tadpole, the sea vehicle that makes exploration faster and risk-free.
However, unlike Titanium and Silver, you won’t notice Gold deposits near your Lifepod. You can only find it in the red, high-temperature region of Subnautica 2, which you can’t explore until you acquire the Heat Tolerance Adaptation.
