China-based developer Eclipse Glow Games revealed last month that Baldur’s Gate 3 and Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 voice actor Jennifer English was stepping away from the protagonist role of Gwendolyn in Tides of Annihilation. Since that departure, and especially in light of new gameplay released earlier this week alongside hands-on previews of the action game, many have speculated about who could take over the role. While we still don’t officially know who, we won’t have to wait much longer.
That’s because an Elipse Glow Games representative tells Game Informer that the new voice of Gwendolyn will be revealed at Gamescom next week. Presumably, this announcement will arrive alongside a new trailer during Gamescom’s Opening Night Live, the game-reveal showcase hosted by Geoff Keighley that kicks off the conference on Tuesday at 11 a.m. PT/2 p.m. ET, though that’s speculation. That Eclipse Glow Games rep also says that, despite “erroneous reports” stating that “Jennifer Prime” is a Gwendolyn mocap artist confirming the character’s new voice actor, those reports are false. As such, there is no official word on who the new voice actor is, but it sounds like we’re just days away from finding out.
