Canadian Counter-Strike 2 player Peter ‘stanislaw‘ Jarguz has launched a crowdfunding campaign to support orgless team BOSS as it looks to attend LAN events during the first half of 2026.

The campaign aims to raise $15,000 (~£11,174) to continue practising and competing on a full-time basis.

Currently ranked 28th in the Valve Regional Standings (VRS) for the Americas, BOSS needs to climb the ladder over the next two months to secure qualification for the IEM Cologne Major taking place in June.

BOSS last competed at fl0m’s Mythical LAN in early January. The team secured a top-six placement at the Tier 2 event but failed to advance from the Group Stage despite an opening victory over Marsborne.

“Since we are not part of an organisation, it is difficult financially to attend these important LAN tournaments all across the world,” wrote stanislaw on the campaign’s fundraising page.

“The funds will be used to cover travel expenses, such as flights, hotels, as well as bootcamp costs. We very much appreciate the support from anyone who chooses to donate to this cause.”

At the time of writing, the campaign has raised $1,052 (~£784.40) towards the $15,000 goal.

Community Reaction

Following the launch of the crowdfunding campaign, the reaction from the Counter-Strike community has been mixed, with fans questioning why BOSS is seeking funds and the team’s chances of securing a place at the Cologne Major.

“You have made over 500k from your last 10 years in esports, why are you begging for money?” asked one fan.

Others have mentioned OpTic Gaming founder Hector ‘H3CZ’ Rodriguez, who has teased a potential return to Counter-Strike esports in recent months.

Crowdfunding in esports remains a vital component across various segments of the industry. In December 2025, German organisation Unicorns of Love offered 11% of the company through a campaign, allowing its fans to own a stake.
