Zul’Gurub goes live with Phase 4 of Classic WoW on April 15th, and with it comes a new reputation, tier sets, and several new rewards. Today, we’re taking a look at all the best new enchants players will gain access to and how to get them.
Zul’Gurub Enchants and How to Get Them
There are two types of new enchants available in Phase 4: Leg/Helmet and Shoulder enchants. These enchants are very powerful and highly sought after, but like most rewards from the new Zandalar Tribe faction, they can take quite some time to complete, making it important to save them for worthwhile items. Unlike some other item augments, players may not apply these enchants to another characters gear; they may only be used by the player which earns them.
Leg/Helmet enchants require Friendly reputation, a Primal Hakkari Idol, and a class specific Punctured Voodoo Doll. Prior to patch 1.11, they also required a corresponding Dire Maul Libram (and its associated Pristine Black Diamond), but that requirement is not present in Classic, making them far cheaper to acquire. Like the dolls they require, the enchants themselves are class specific, which makes them ill-suited for certain roles – for example, the Warrior version Presence of Might is tailored to tanking, without any offensive option for DPS Warriors. Despite this limitation, the enchants are very powerful and those who use them will do so for the rest of the game’s content cycle.
- Primal Hakkari Idol drops from Jin’do the Hexxer and Bloodlord Mandokir, for a total of two per raid. This makes them rare, though not class restricted so anyone can use it.
Prior to patch 1.11, the enchants instead required one of the various epic class armor tokens. - Punctured Voodoo Doll and other class dolls are found in Jinxed Hoodoo Pile scattered throughout Zul’Gurub. Unlike the other required materials, these dolls are not bind on pickup, allowing them to be bought and sold on the auction house.
They are also used in crafting each classes set trinkets. - Upon reaching Friendly reputation and acquiring the necessary items, they may be taken to Zanza the Restless within Zul’Gurub and exchanged for the corresponding enchantment.
There is one exception to these class restrictions, which is the Savage Guard enchant. It requires Honored reputation and is obtained by trading a completed Arcanum of Focus, Arcanum of Rapidity, or Arcanum of Protection to Zanza the Restless.Shoulder enchants are much easier to obtain, costing only 15 Zandalar Honor Token, however they also require Exalted reputation, which means they won’t be available nearly as early. While these enchants are also strong and will last quite some time, they can eventually be replaced during Phase 6 with Might of the Scourge and Power of the Scourge which drop from Sapphiron in Naxxramas.
Enchant | Requirement |
Zandalar Signet of Might | 15 Zandalar Honor Token |
Zandalar Signet of Mojo | 15 Zandalar Honor Token |
Zandalar Signet of Serenity | 15 Zandalar Honor Token |
- Zandalar Honor Token are rewarded from destroying Bijous and turning in various sets of coins to Vinchaxa.
These tokens can also be consumed to earn reputation with the Zandalar Tribe, however trash mobs and bosses within Zul’Gurub can be killed for reputation all the way to Exalted, so a common strategy is to save these coins for buying enchants. - Upon reaching Exalted reputation, the tokens can be exchanged with Rin’wosho the Trader by completing the quest Signets of the Zandalar.
