Teams to watch during the initial phases 1 and 2
Some big and interesting Rainbow Six esports teams couldn’t make it to the Osaka Major. Notably, FURIA, Team Secret, and CAG by VARREL failed to qualify for the event.
At the same time, many great teams are competing in this Major! Following them can be really helpful for your personal playing experience — or just exciting to watch.
Phase 1 teams (play-in)
It’s surprising to see DarkZero starting their Osaka Major run from Phase 1. They’re the Salt Lake City Major champions and have maintained a stable international performance since. DarkZero players finished third at the R6 World Cup 2026.
We expect big things from DarkZero, and they’re definitely part of our Osaka Major prediction picks.
LOS is another team to watch out for during the Osaka Major. They couldn’t make it through groups in Salt Lake City and weren’t playing at the EWC 2026. However, the situation has changed since then. It was LOS who took the fourth spot in South America, denying qualification to FURIA, the EWC grand finalists.

Phase 2 teams (Swiss stage)
All the heavy hitters join the R6 Osaka Major with Phase 2, and FaZe Clan are hands down the biggest among them. This specific roster won two Six Invitationals in a row and lifted the EWC 2026 trophy. Claiming a Major would be another decent achievement on their remarkable resume.
Considering the strength of South American teams, other representatives from the region are also worth your attention. Team Liquid and Fluxo W7M join the mix starting in the Swiss stage. While their recent international results haven’t been mind-blowing, these players always deliver excellent Rainbow Six action.

100 Thieves joined Rainbow Six Esports this season, and the Osaka Major is the organization’s first international tournament. However, 100 Thieves have already defeated big opponents and claimed the number one seed from North America!
One of 100 Thieves’ victims, and another NA team to follow, is M80. After winning the Munich Major 2025, M80 has clearly been struggling, even with newer players on the roster. The Osaka Major is their next chance to shine.

Europe and MENA are home to strong R6 esports teams, and Falcons claimed the number one spot in regional Split 2. Team Falcons couldn’t hit high at international events after finishing 3rd at the Six Invitational 2026. The Osaka Major can make the difference for them.
Geekay Esports are the heroes of the R6 EWC 2026 after a hero run, up to 4th place. It’ll be really interesting to follow them again!
