Skins will no longer be part of the Fortnite Crew service
The most unexpected change is removing skins exclusive to the Fortnite Crew membership. Since December 2020, Epic Games has released one skin every month for six years. Unfortunately, that will soon end.
The blog post reads, “Crew Pack Outfits are ending, and the final one will be December’s pack.” Many long-time subscribers have already voiced their concern with this decision, as it was one of the only worthwhile perks.
Moving forward, Fortnite Crew skins are gone, and it’s unclear whether any will return.
Fortnite Crew changes include the end of the OG Pass
Another bombshell revelation is that Fortnite OG is effectively going on a hiatus. Epic Games wrote, “OG Pass will end on December 5 with a dramatic conclusion at the end of Chapter 1: OG Season X,” adding that the next era of Fortnite OG drops in 2027.
What does this mean for Fortnite Crew? It means the OG Pass will no longer be a perk included in the subscription, and nothing will replace it. It’s unclear whether it will return as a perk with the “next era of Fortnite OG.”
Players will receive more V-Bucks the longer they remain a member
Since launch, Fortnite Crew has always netted members an additional 1,000 V-Bucks per month. That will change for subscribers beginning in December. Members who stayed for multiple months will receive additional V-Bucks.
Here’s the breakdown:
| Membership Tier | Duration | V-Bucks |
|---|---|---|
| Core | 1-2 months | 1,000 |
| Bronze | 3-5 months | 1.200 |
| Silver | 6-11 months | 1,400 |
| Gold | 12+ months | 1,600 |
XP boosts added to Fortnite Crew changes
Epic Games is adding a 20% XP boost to Crew members to compensate for the removed perks. Party members will receive a 10% XP boost even if they are not Fortnite Crew members.
These changes could lead to many Fortnite Crew cancellations, as many enjoyed the exclusive skins. Only time will tell whether Epic makes further adjustments based on player feedback.
