SteamDB is changing owners after 13 years, with Nexus Mods parent company Chosen taking over the popular third-party Steam database. Founder Pavel “xPaw” Djundik said he had been looking for someone to take over since January because maintaining SteamDB had become too much for one person, and he will stay involved during the transition while a larger team takes over development and infrastructure.
Chosen and xPaw say SteamDB will keep its own name, website, browser extension, Discord, and Steam group, while existing free features will remain free. They also say Nexus Mods accounts will not be required to use the site and that the two services will stay separate.
