I think it’s safe to say that, ever since the original Gears of War hit the Xbox 360 back in 2006, many fans have wanted a lancer of their own. Now that Gears of War E-Day is coming soon, you can have one. An official Gears of War Prototype Lancer Replica is available for preorder on the Xbox Game Studios Shop. It’s not cheap at $299.99, but it’s a full-sized 1:1 scale model, and it looks terrific. Orders placed now are expected to ship in February 2027.
Gears of War Prototype Lancer Replica
The iconic firearm is an assault rifle that has a chainsaw attached to it, or a “chainsaw bayonet,” if you want to sound elegant. Gears of War E-Day is a prequel to the Gears of War series, depicting the initial alien attack on the planet Sera. As a result, the Lancers used in the game are prototypes of the ones in later installments. Hence the word “prototype” in the name of the replica.
Now this isn’t the first Lancer replica to be released. In fact, we got to go hands-on with one a decade ago around the release of Gears of War 4. But this is the latest one, and it matches the weapons seen in Gears of War E-Day, complete with “a custom, hand-painted battle-worn ‘E-Day’ finish that reflects the immediate chaos of the initial strike.”
The replica is full-scale and detailed, and it can be wielded to scare your friends, just like the real thing. But it’s intended to be a display piece, and as such, it comes with a stand and an informational placard so you can set it on your desk or shelf.
