CD Projekt Red closed out gamescom Opening Night Live with two updates for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, announcing a new Remastered version for Sept. 29 and showing the first footage from its third expansion, Songs of the Past. The remaster will be a free upgrade for existing owners on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S, while a native Nintendo Switch 2 version is also coming on the same day.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Remastered makes considerably more changes than the game’s 2022 next-gen update. CD Projekt Red showed upgraded visuals and performance alongside changes to combat, movement, traversal, Witcher Signs, Roach’s handling, monster behavior, and the skill tree. Transmogrification, additional finishers, and an expanded photo mode are also part of the update.
