Report: Live-Action Legend Of Zelda Movie Taps Uli Latukefu For Ganondorf

Nintendo's live-action Legend of Zelda movie is set to hit theaters on April 30, 2027, and though we've seen official images of Benjamin Evan Ainsworth as Link and Bo Bragason as Zelda, there's still a lot of mystery surrounding the film. We don't know which game, if any, the movie is adapting; we don't know if Link will talk; we don't know if Tingle will be in it. According to a new report from Deadline, however, we do know who will play Ganondorf: Uli Latukefu, who has appeared in Young Rock (as a younger version of Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson), Black Adam, MaXXXine, and more.  Bo Bragason as Zelda (top) and Benjamin Evan Ainsworth as Link Deadline also reports, in a separate write-up, that the late Sam Neill (Alan Grant in the Jurassic Park franchise) filmed a role in the movie prior to his death last month, and that Dichen Lachman (Severance, Altered Carbon, Jurassic World: Dominion) and Yvonne Strahovski (The Handmaid's Tale, Dexter, and Miranda Lawson in Mass Effect) are set to film for the movie, too. Deadline reports that Strahovski's role is a queen, with Lachman set to play Impa. None of this is officially confirmed by Nintendo or Sony, both of which are producing the movie, but Deadline gets its information from sources close to the project. The New York Times' Kyle Buchanan originally broke the news about Latukefu's casting before Deadline further confirmed it. Given this casting news, it's still unclear what game the movie could be adapting, but we should learn more soon, considering the movie is due out in roughly seven months. While waiting to learn more, read Game Informer's reviews of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
