The Axum Observatory is a massive, towering underwater structure found far to the east of Subnautica 2’s map. To reach it, you need to brave first the scorching temperatures of the hot biome, and then the entrance to the Karakorum regions, which is guarded by a terrifying Collector Leviathan.
Once you do reach the Observatory, you’ll find it to contain an intriguing puzzle. Inside the Observatory there is an Axum Door which you cannot yet open. But the game gives you very little direction about what you need in order to open it. That’s where we come in.
In this guide, I’ll walk you through how to open the Axum Door in the Observatory in Subnautica 2, and what you must do inside the Observatory itself. The quest involves gaining a new upgrade to your Sonic Resonator, cleansing various Bloom infestation sites, acquiring the game’s final Adaptation, and interfacing with alien technology.
