Cyberpunk TCG Shatters Kickstarter Record With Over $25 Million Raised as Campaign Ends

This past March, tabletop publisher WeirdCo launched their Kickstarter for the brand new Cyberpunk Trading Card Game. Officially blessed by CD Projekt RED, the project was highly anticipated, but few could have predicted just how explosive its funding period would actually be.

In the span of mere minutes, the campaign passed a million dollars. Now, less than a few weeks later and as the campaign draws to a close (officially on April 17, 2026, at 3 PM PST), this game of cardboard rectangles comfortably sits at over $25 million (and the rest), with over 43,000 backs to boot.

This massive wave of success has officially earned the record-breaking game the medals for the “Most Funded Kickstarter TCG” and the “Highest-Funded Game Campaign” ever on the platform.

To put this milestone into perspective, Cyberpunk TCG completely surpassed the previous record held by Brandon Sanderson’s Cosmere Roleplaying Game, which raised an impressive, but now eclipsed, $15.1 million on Kickstarter in 2024.

With the campaign wrapping up and funding secured, WeirdCo now faces the enviable task of fulfilling the largest tabletop gaming order in Kickstarter history.

Yet, the modern TCG landscape is a tough beast to crack. With dozens of card games vying for players’ time and wallets, standing out is no easy feat.

As Scott White recently wrote for IGN, “good IP, strong gameplay, and nifty accessories don’t necessarily guarantee a Magic: The Gathering or Pokémon TCG legacy.”

Still, it already has a lot of things going for it, foremost being that it’s an incredibly fun game to play (check out our gameplay preview for a deeper dive into the mechanics).

Fingers crossed that WeirdCo can successfully deliver on its post-Kickstarter roadmap when the game officially ships to backers later this year.

If you’re looking to jack into the new trading card game, there is still a brief window before the campaign officially closes today, April 17, at 3 PM PST.

Backing the Kickstarter now grants players access to exclusive items and limited-edition card art that will only be available during this initial Beta run.

That includes special Foil Nova Rare versions of fan favorites like V: Streetkid, Lucy Kushinada, David Martinez, and Rebecca: Having a Moment.
