Choi ‘Lucid‘ Yong-hyeok has re-signed with Dplus KIA, extending his contract with the LCK organisation.

The jungler, part of the main roster since 2023, will remain with the team through next year as he prepares for the upcoming season.

The announcement came just three days after Dplus KIA completed a reverse sweep over T1 in the LCK Cup playoffs. The best-of-five series carried significant stakes, with a spot in the lower-bracket final in Hong Kong on the line and qualification implications for First Stand.

Lucid played a steady role throughout the series and was named MVP of the series after consistently performing well in both the team’s wins and losses.

Fans’ reactions have been largely positive, with some even saying that Lucid has already proven himself to be capable of filling in the shoes left behind by Kim ‘Canyon‘ Geon-bu, who left Dplus KIA in 2023. Others speculated whether the renewal might have looked different without the recent victory over T1.

“From Roots to the Heights”

In a social media post, Dplus KIA traced Lucid’s growth “from the roots to the heights,” calling him “the heartbeat of our jungle” since his days with DK Challengers. Having grown within the organisation, Lucid said he is “very happy playing on this team as a pro player,” and credited the staff for creating an environment that feels “like home.”

In a video message to fans, Lucid made it clear that his focus is on results. He wants to deliver stronger performances, win a championship, and continue playing alongside Heo ‘ShowMaker’ Su, with the hope of winning “many titles together.” Admitting he cannot imagine wearing another uniform, Lucid aims to prove himself to fans again in the year to come.

Dplus KIA remain in the lower bracket, where it’s set to face BNK FearX for a chance to advance to the LCK Cup final and play against Gen.G. The two teams have already met in the LCK Cup playoffs, with Gen.G taking a 3–1 victory.
