Tournament organiser Circuit X has announced that it is boosting the prize pool for BetBoom Circuit X Mayhem.

Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) teams will now compete for the lion’s share of a $50,000 (~£36,890) prize pool from April 1st to 5th in São Paulo, Brazil.

In the official announcement, Circuit X revealed that the decision was made in light of the fact that the BetBoom Circuit X Mayhem will be ‘the last South American event before the Major cutoff.’

The ‘cutoff’ refers to when the Valve Regional Standings (VRS) are finalised, influenced by teams’ performance in various online and LAN CS2 tournaments, which determines invitations to upcoming CS2 Majors.

The social media post also shared that it will be releasing information on team registration closer to the tournament. As of writing, teams and formats have yet to be revealed.

Circuit X is a regional esports tournament organiser primarily focused on Counter-Strike 2 that hosts LAN events in South America. It has organised several tournaments in 2025, such as Circuit X South America Season 1 and Circuit X Redemption Curitiba, both of which were won by MIBR.

The upcoming tournament is co-branded by iGaming company, BetBoom. The betting brand has established several esports partnerships, including a recent multi-year deal with BLAST, and operates BetBoom Team, which competes in CS2, Dota 2 and PUBG.

BetBoom Circuit Pantanal

Ahead of BetBoom Circuit X Mayhem, the tournament organiser will hold the BetBoom Circuit X Pantanal, set to take place in Cuiabá, Brazil. Scheduled from March 4th to 8th, 16 teams will compete for the lions share of a $25,000 (~£18,450) prize pool.

The groups for BetBoom Circuit X Pantanal has also been revealed. Group A includes Gamdom Imperial, Metanoia, Shinden, and Fluxo W7M. Group B features 9Z, Bestia, Ehisto Base, and Fake Do Biru. Group C will pit MIBR Academy, Sharks, Oddik, and Yawara against one another. Finally, Group D comprises Red Canids Kalunga, Galorys, Game Hunters, and Marsborne.
