Uplink to open esports training centre in King of Prussia

North American esports facility operator Uplink has announced its expansion by opening a facility in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania.

The facility will offer customers memberships in addition to hosting tournaments, leagues and summer camps.

The venue will feature 40 gaming PCs in addition to four sim racing rigs and three virtual golf simulators. Alongside Uplink’s range of equipment, the King of Prussia facility also contains a space to host private and corporate events.

Uplink’s King of Prussia facility is set to open on May 11th, 2024. According to the company, the facility will utilise its philosophy of using esports to teach children ‘important life skills that will benefit them for the rest of their lives’. The company’s use of esports as an educational tool saw it nominated at the 2023 Tempest Awards for the Best Charity or Social Good Initiative.

For Uplink, the opening of the King of Prussia facility is the beginning of further expansion. The company aims to open two more facilities in Mount Laurel, New Jersey and Doylestown, Pennsylvania. Details on future expansions were not disclosed.

According to the company’s website, Uplink currently operates two locations based in Glenmoore and Wayne, Pennsylvania.

The trend of launching dedicated esports facilities shows no sign of slowing down. In March 2024, German organisation MOUZ will open its new headquarters in the Summer and FATE Esports recently unveiled its new HQ in Jordan. Last year, youth-focused esports company Valhallan opened a training facility in Wake Forest, North Carolina.
