Two former FACEIT personnel, Roald van Buuren and Jan Moerland, have launched a London-based esports agency called ELO Agency.

The agency will provide event management solutions and aims to streamline the process of planning esports events.

According to a release, the vision of ELO Agency is to partner with game developers, esports organisations, and brands looking to enter the industry by focusing on event planning and operations. In addition, ELO Agency aims to ‘elevate the standard’ of esports events taking place. Alongside organising upcoming events, the agency will also support existing organisations with their efforts.

Van Buuren and Moerland are no strangers to the world of esports. Prior to founding ELO Agency, van Buuren spent a decade as the Director of Esports at esports tournament platform FACEIT. Moerland worked as FACEIT’s League Operations Manager before spending a year and eight months as a Tournament Manager for ESL FACEIT Group.

The trend of launching esports agencies shows no signs of slowing down. In January 2024, industry veterans Dominic Müller and Marco Niemann co-founded Bright Up Agency. In the same month, analytics platform Streams Charts launched MIRAI, an influencer and marketing agency.

Van Buuren, Founder and CEO of ELO Agency, spoke on the launch: “Esports events are an unparalleled platform for marketing, capable of showcasing products or games to a global audience. However, the intricacies involved in esports can often lead to challenges if not properly navigated.

“ELO Agency is here to guide our clients through every step, ensuring their ventures into esports are not just successful but also impactful. From crafting RFPs and sourcing the perfect partners to training staff and establishing operational frameworks, we’re here to make esports events a seamless and strategic extension of our clients’ brands.”
