As we approach the end of Modern Warfare II’s lifecycle, Activision’s developers are still busy pumping the game full of content. In the latest content drop – the Season 05 Reloaded update – players can take advantage of new Operators, weapons, maps, modes, and much more. Now that we know all our content will roll over into Modern Warfare III, players are more invested than ever before in grinding the game – they’ll spend another year using it, after all.
From Lara Croft making an appearance in Call of Duty to three new weapons being made available to unlock in a single battle pass sector, there’s plenty to aim for with this update. There’s a brand-new small-form Resurgence map, fresh game modes, and new DMZ features. It’s a massive update, which is remarkable considering it’s just a mid-season refresh. Regardless, here’s everything you need to know about the Season 05 Reloaded update.
Season 05 Reloaded Brings LOTS of Content
If you want to part ways with a bit of cash, consider investing in one of the new Operator bundles. With the Season 05 Reloaded update, players can charge around the battlefield as 21 Savage, Lara Croft, or a new iteration of Mace. They’re pricey bundles, but they include a considerable amount of content. There’s no other way to unlock these Operators, though – they must be bought in the Call of Duty store.

In the Season 05 Reloaded update, players can get their hands on three exclusive weapons. They’re all contained within Sector E0 on the battle pass — which has been newly unlocked for this update. In that Sector, players must complete a series of challenges to get their hands on the super-silent Lachmann Shroud, the powerful 9mm Daemon, and the best-in-class melee weapon, the Pickaxe.
Outside of the fresh content, we’re seeing the return of Armored Royale on Warzone, all-new mid-season camo challenges, fresh bundles (including the 420-friendly ‘Blunt Fingers’), and a series of new missions for DMZ.
What’s Happening After Season 05 Reloaded?
If that’s not enough to keep you occupied, remember that a new ‘Fort Resurgence’ map is being added to Call of Duty in the Season 05 Reloaded update. There’s also an all-new multiplayer map, a Gunfight Snipers playlist opening up, and all-new rewards for MWII’s Ranked Play mode.
Following the deployment of the Season 05 Reloaded update (which lands today, August 30th), players will remain happy and immersed for a few weeks before Season 06 kicks off. It’s not known what’s coming in Season 06 of Call of Duty, but as we get ever closer to the launch of Modern Warfare III and its beta window, players will start to get itchy in MWII. There’s only so much waiting they can do, and given how impressive MWIII looks, it’s going to be a tough couple of months.
Modern Warfare III will be released worldwide on November 10th, 2023.
