Assassin's Creed Codename Jade Gameplay Appears Online

Assassin’s Creed Codename Jade gameplay has appeared online, nearly a year after the mobile game’s official announcement.

One YouTube channel dedicated to the Assassin’s Creed franchise streamed and archived a video of what looks like gameplay from the ongoing closed beta. The gameplay shown looked good for a mobile game, and the user interface revealed that Codename Jade will have touch controls, though there was no indication as to whether or not it will support external controllers like the DualSense or the Backbone One.

Set in Ancient China, Codename Jade is the first open-world Assassin’s Creed game made exclusively for mobile devices. It also serves as the first in the series where you get to create your own assassin protagonist.

Assassins Creed Codename Jade is one of many projects Ubisoft currently has coming down the pipeline for the series, as the publisher has announced it is pumping more resources into the franchise. In addition to Codename Jade, the next main entry in the franchise, Assassin’s Creed Mirage, releases on October 12. Other projects include the first Assassin’s Creed made for VR headsets called Nexus VR, and an upcoming Assassin’s Creed game set in feudal Japan.
