LEC Week 2 Preview – Critical Stats and Takeaways

28 kills are the average number of kills per game

Even though it’s only the first week of the regular summer split, the LEC is still keeping up the bloody and chaotic kill number. LEC Spring Groups had 31 kills per game on average: we might be able to see get closer to those numbers in the two remaining weeks.

Shortest game lasts more than 25 minutes

It was recorded in the win by Astralis against Team BDS with a game time of 25 minutes and 37 seconds.

Blue side has a dominant win rate over red side

This might be an influential stat for the remaining games of the split. Blue side won 10 out of the 15 games (66.7% win rate) played so far, potentially showing how advantageous that side of the map might be. In Spring Playoffs and regular split, blue side had a much higher win rate, while Groups stage was the only one where the numbers were dead even.

Infernal is the most-killed dragon

Infernal was the preferred dragon in the first week with 20 total kills. All other drake types average around 11-12 kills each, with the exception of Mountain drake at 7. Elder dragon was only killed twice.

One player has 40 KDA after the first week

Noah was one of the most hyped players coming into the Summer Split, hoping to become the game-changer for Fnatic and overturn their 2023 season. Despite losing one game, the Korean ADC is topping the KDA charts with an impressive 40 average KDA, dying only once in 3 games, with a combined 21/1/19 KDA, according to gol.gg. His pocket pick Aphelios has still yet to die.

Carzzy has over 40% damage share

ADC players have been getting the highlights in week one and Carzzy carried MAD Lions with an insane 40.4% damage share. Flakked is running close in second place with 38.4%, followed by Comp and Noah at 37% and 35% respectively. The meta continues to be extremely bot-centric so strong ADC players will be able to lead their team to victories.

This top laner scored 5 solo kills in Week 1

Speaking of impressive player stats, KOI’s Szygenda has been exerting top lane dominance with positive individual stats across the board, as well as 5 solo kills registered in 3 games played. What’s even more impressive is that he got the kills by playing weak-side champions such as K’Sante and Gragas. LEC top laners pulling Gigachad moves?

One champion is banned every game

Vi was banned in all 15 games played so far, making her one of three champions with a 100% presence rate. The other two picks are Milio and Neeko.

43 unique champions picked

A total of 48 champions were picked or banned in the LEC so far, but only 43 of them actually jumped on Summoner’s Rift. According to gol.gg, Aphelios was the most popular pick with 9 games, followed by K’Sante, Wukong, Milio, Annie, and Ahri on 8 games each.

Team Heretics killed four dragons every game they played

We all know drakes are important in League of Legends but Team Heretics seem to love them more than anyone else. The dark horse of the LEC is the only team, alongside MAD Lions, to go undefeated in week 1. But aside from their impressive start, the team averages 4 dragons per game, meaning that they were able to capture dragon souls in every match they played. Will they maintain their record?

There’s only one way to find out, as they will be facing XL, KOI, and Team BDS in Week 2 of the LEC 2023 Summer Split.
