It can be considered entirely subjective when debating the best Attacker in Rainbow Six Siege. It’s something that can change from person to person, with each player having their preference, and what works for one competitor may not work out for another. With that in mind, we’ve put together a guide that breaks down the best Attackers in Rainbow Six Siege, but it’s mostly driven by the general consensus online and an overview of the Operator itself.

From powerhouse Operators to agile, stealthy ones, there is plenty of diversity in Rainbow Six Siege. There’s something for every kind of player, and that’s true whether you’re a marksman that sits back from the fight or if you’re a headstrong individual that always leads the charge.

So, who is the best Attacker in Rainbow Six Siege?

Who Is The Best Attacker in Rainbow Six Siege?

It’s hard to lock down one Attacker and name them the best, but there are a few that can be considered the top-tier Operators in the category. As we’ve highlighted, it’s a very subjective debate, and it’s one that will always end up displeasing at least one person involved in the discussion. If we were to ask you, who is the best Attacker in Rainbow Six Siege, your answer would likely differ to the next ten people we asked that question to.

Anyway…

Thatcher

As one of the most versatile and easily accessible Operators in Rainbow Six Siege, Thatcher is widely considered one of the best. He’s an instantly recognisable force in the game, boasting a timeless and classic SAS garb that immediately identifies him as a seasoned veteran of combat. He’s a mixed bag, wielding both one of the worst weapons in Rainbow Six Siege and one of the best weapons in the game.

His arsenal is advantageous to the user, and whether you’re blasting holes in walls with his shotgun or picking off enemies with his L85A2, you’ll be having a great time Attacking with Thatcher. He’s so overpowered in some circumstances that he’s banned as a pick in many competitive scenarios, meaning he isn’t often seen in Rainbow Six esports. His EMP grenades can effectively knock out Defenders’ equipment while the charge is efficiently maintained.

Sledge

Coincidentally, it’s another SAS trooper that is a strong contender for the title of best Attacker in Rainbow Six Siege. He’s also another original Operator, and players can pick him up regardless of which version of Rainbow Six Siege they buy. He’s a hulking, heavy-set Operator that pairs up quite nicely with Thatcher, and with his Tactical Breaching Hammer (hence the name), he can pick a building apart piece by piece.

Like Thatcher, Sledge uses the L85A2, a very balanced weapon, but he backs it up with an SMG-11, a rapid-fire counterpart to the hard-hitting assault rifle. He’s easy to get to grips with, and he’s definitely one of the best Operators in Rainbow Six Siege.

Maverick

Maverick was introduced with the Operation Grim Sky expansion, coming into the Rainbow Six Siege fight from Delta Force, making him a US-based Operator. He’s one of the fastest Operators in the business, and despite being only Tier One when it comes to health, he’s one of the best Attackers in Rainbow Six Siege.

He’s a breacher like Sledge, but instead of a massive hammer, Maverick uses an exothermic torch that can cut through almost any surface. His base weapons are also beneficial to the user, with Maverick making use of the tried-and-tested M4 or the AR-15 that hits remarkably hard. He also has claymores, which can be deployed strategically to totally shut down counter-attacks. If you’re wondering which Operator to buy next, consider unlocking Maverick.

Who Is The Worst Attacker in Rainbow Six Siege?

We’ve outlined who can compete for the title of the best Attacker in Rainbow Six Siege, but who is the worst?

Blitz

For the most part, Blitz seems to be a universally disappointing Attacker in Rainbow Six Siege. He wields a riot shield and a handgun, and that’s really it – even his ability is based on that shield, and his only offensive gadget is a breaching charge. With that being said, very few Operators can pressure a room quite like Blitz, who will make enemies panic from the moment he enters the fight.

But, given his limited output, once his flashes have been fully deployed, he’s very open to attack, and a quick flank will see him dispatched with ease. He’s an older Operator now, so he’s much more affordable, but his middle-of-the-road ratings mark him as below average. If you’re interested in the dynamic that a tactical shield will bring to a fight, then by all means unlock Blitz and give him a try, but don’t expect to be too amazed.
