A new update has hit Fortnite, our first for Chapter 4 Season 3. The latest Fortnite patch notes have added a big new crossover to the game, Fortnite X Air Max. This is the next crossover between Epic’s Battle Royale and the sneaker brand. But this time, there’s a bit more going on than just some skins though.
That’s alongside adding some new content in overall. There are new fun weapons, a new boss on the map, and some changes to how things like competitive works. These are all of the major changes and what we can expect from the Fortnite X Air Max crossover.
Fortnite X Air Max
Fortnite crossovers are some of the most fun periods in the game. The latest Fortnite update has introduced a new one, this time with the shoe and sportswear manufacturer Nike. Fortnite X Nike Air is the second collab with the company following one in 2019, but this one has a whole new batch of cosmetics and something in-game too.
The first part of this new crossover is the Fortnite X Air Max cosmetics. These are new skins that are available in the item shop and a back bling you can unlock for free by playing through the in-game quests.
There aren’t any Nike items hitting Battle Royale or Zero Builds as part of the crossover. Out of all Fortnite seasons, they often have these smaller-scale crossovers that only really touch the store. Fortnite X Nike Air has a bit more going on though. There will be a Creative map that players can dip into here too though. This is a special Nike island in creative where players can complete some quests and experience some Nike-related content.
Other Changes in the Latest Fortnite Update
Fortnite X Air Max is a crossover from the latest update, but it’s far from the biggest chunk of the new content. Along with the Nike stuff, Epic has added quite a few new items and changes to the game since the Chapter 4 Season 3 release:
New Boss – A new boss, Relik, is around the Jungle biome.
New Mythics – The new Boss drops Cloak Gauntlets and Mythic MK-Alpha AR
Cloak Gauntlets – New Item. These allow you to become invisible in games.
Shockwaves –These are back in Zero Builds! Fixing a bit of the mobility problem.
Rank Reset – Competitive has had a Rank reset. This is to test resetting the rank ahead fo the proper Season 1 launch for the new Fortnite Ranked mode.
Those are some of the bigger changes in the latest Fortnite update. Between some mobility coming back, new Mythics, and a new boss, this is one of the bigger updates, at least for the very first patch. In Fortnite, all seasons tend to have a quieter first week but Epic has dropped more pretty quickly here. This is all stuff that is making the current build a lot more fun than the initial release! Between this and the new Fortnite X Air Max crossover, there is loads to do in Fortnite!
