Free Fire Clash Squad SEA Cup unveiled as 4v4 mode becomes a part of esports

The Free Fire SEA Invitational (FFSI) just got over, but Garena has already pulled the curtains on the next big esports event – the Free Fire Clash Squad SEA Cup. It will happen from July 7 to 16 with teams from four Southeast Asian countries fighting for the title.

What is the Clash Squad mode in Free Fire?

Free Fire has always been a battle royale title. However, since the introduction of the Clash Mode, the 4v4 team mode has been becoming very popular. The mode is a permanent one in the game and now has separate ranked seasons.

The game mode is extremely competitive. In it, two teams of four players each go head-to-head. At the beginning of each round, the teams have to purchase weapons and items using the shop.

The objective in each round is to take down all four enemy players. The first team to do so wins the round. The team that wins four rounds will get victory in the game.

Thus, it’s not surprising to see Free Fire push for esports in this mode as well given its popularity.

It remains to be seen if the fee Fire Clash Squad SEA Cup is a one-off affair or if it will be a recurring part of Free Fire esports.
