Turbo Mode just got faster in new latest Dota 2 Update

Valve kicks off several significant changes to the Turbo Mode in the Dota 2 Update on June 8, 2023. This comes after the massive Dota 2 Update 7.33, which added new elements to the game, some being overpowering too.

Considering how Turbo Mode is essentially a sped-up version of your average Dota 2 match, expect the overpowered to be even more broken. Valve also added that the Turbo Mode updates are based off community feedback, which is always appreciated.

Amongst the many changes, the most significant since the Patch 7.33 is the Wisdom Runes offering twice as much experience and Lotuses spawn at a faster rate to accommodate the pace of the game.

Double it!

Besides Wisdom Runes offering 100% more experience, the Lotus Pool spawns lotuses at a shorter interval of 90 seconds from the previous 3 minutes.

Additionally, Aghanim’s Shard initial available time reduced from 9:45 to 7:30 minutes, enabling heroes to become more active quicker. Infused Raindrops can be purchased at merely 1:30 minutes, so lanes will be more sustainable and safer.

Over at the drafting layout, hero selection interface now shows how many players have selected a hero on each team. Whereas the random hero selection are no longer visible. This, of course, makes it difficult for the opposite side to punish the randomized hero by picking a direct counter. Additionally, players who select a random hero no longer receives a free Mango and Faerie Fire, which is too advantageous.

Other minor changes include the removal of restriction on selecting random hero during the last 10 seconds of picking phase.

Lastly, Arcana progress tracking is now available for Phantom Assassin’s Manifold Paradox and Pudge’s Feast of Abscession at half credit.

Bug Fixes reported in Update 7.33

The Update 7.33 ships with bugs, which the diligent Dota 2 community has painstakingly identified via the Dota 2 Reddit.

As such, the janitors behind Dota 2’s clean software have scrubbed the reported bugs that arose from various newly-introduced mechanics. For instance, the Tormentors, Shield and Wisdom Runes, two lairs for Roshan, can be clunky in how they truly work. We often see clips of Roshan deciding to go out for a walk in the midst of a Roshan fight. Or when the Tormentors deal fatal damage via reflecting damage.

Teams at the Berlin Major had to play in the latest, unrefined version of Dota 2 Update 7.33 last April. Hence, as the Bali Major 2023 approaches very soon, perhaps the pro players can appreciate less broken bugs as it’s decisive on their Dota Pro Circuit rankings and potentially their qualification to the International 12.
