What to Expect at DreamHack Fighters Dallas 2023

DreamHack Fighters is returning later this week, with a whole host of new events for some of the top fighting games. After DH San Diego earlier this year, DreamHack Fighters is becoming a bigger part of the overall fighting game community. Dallas is a little smaller for fighters, but there are a decent number of tournaments on offer. That includes a Street Fighter tournament in the very first days that the new title releases! These are all of the events at DreamHack Fighters Dallas 2023 and what to expect from each of them.

DreamHack Fighters Dallas 2023

DreamHack Fighters Dallas 2023 is our next DreamHack event for the year, after San Diego a little while ago. Fighting games are making up a good slice of the tournament with six full tournaments on offer. It’s all taking place over June 2-4, but you can watch along at home through the DreamHack stream too.

There’s more than $100,000 in prize money for fighting games alone at the tournament. These are each of the tournaments that will be featured at Dallas.

Street Fighter 6

The Street Fighter 6 release date is June 2nd, and the Dallas tournament starts the very next day. This two-day event has a prize pool of $10,000. It’s a crazy early tournament for Street Fighter so don’t expect everyone to know every corner of their mains at the tournament. It’s a great early look at the competitive balance for SF 6 though. There are some major players attending like Punk, Shine, and Reynald.

Guilty Gear Strive at DreamHack Fighters Dallas 2023

It’s not just brand-new games at DreamHack Fighters Dallas 2023, there are some older titles too. Guilty Gear Strive sits somewhere in the middle, it’s established enough to be one of the best fighting games for PS4, Xbox, and most platforms, but it’s also still getting DLC. The tournament at DH Dallas has a prize of $5,000. It’s taking place over the full three days of the event, June 2-4th. Some of the bigger players turning include UMISHO, Marvelo, Razzo, and FlashMetroid.

Tekken 7

The next tournament at DreamHack Fighters Dallas is Tekken 7. It’s got a smaller prize than the others so far at $2,000, but it’s still got some impressive talent here too.

King of Fighters XV

Another smaller tournament at the event is King of Fighters xv, carrying a prize pool of $2,000. It’s also taking place over all three days of the tournament.

Dragon Ball FighterZ

DreamHack Fighters Dallas 2023 has a great spread of games across the roster, and it includes one of the best anime fighting games It’s another three-day event, with $2,000 at stake.

Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3

Marvel V Capcom doesn’t show up as a mainstage tournament as often anymore, but DreamHack Dallas 2023 is keeping it relevant! This title will have another three-day event, with the standard $2,000 prize pool.

Brawlhalla

Just like at DreamHack SanDiego, Brawlhalla is one of the headline events for this tournament. It makes up a good portion of the $100,000 prize pool for fighters! There are Brawlhalla Singles and Doubles, each with a $35,000 prize pool.

Smash Bros at DreamHack Fighters Dallas 2023

Smash Bros has loads at events going on across Melee and Ultimate. There are Singles and Doubles for both. Ultimate Singles has a prize of $5,000, whereas Melee gets $3,000. Doubles for both games will feature $1,000 in prize money as a side event.

Other Games at DreamHack Fighters Dallas 2023

Those are all of the major events at DreamHack Fighters Dallas 2023. This is a big tournament though that has events outside of just fighting games.
