When it comes to Battle Royales, Fortnite is the heavy hitter. It’s one of the most popular games and frequently has crossover events with other major franchises, last season one of the biggest crossovers was their My Hero Academia event. Even if you missed out on those Fortnite skins though, there are more ways to play a MHA Battle Royale. A dedicated game is just entering beta.
The new title, My Hero Ultra Rumble, is a dedicated anime Battle Royale coming from Bandai Namco. The game is just about to head into early access. Players can test it out and see how the anime franchise’s powers work in the world of a Battle Royale.
MHA Battle Royale
A MHA Battle Royale is coming, where players will compete to be the last man standing by using the superhero powers found in the anime. Unlike the devoted Fortnite crossover, this will feature the powers of loads of characters in the popular Shonen series, not just Deku.
Gameplay shown off so far is a bit bizarre. It’s a Battle Royale where you use a variety of different powers rather than traditional weaponry. It kind of feels like Spellbreak in that way. With a big brand and Bandai Namco behind the game though, it might fare better than the short-lived Proletariat game. It might not be able to compete with the likes of Fortnite and Apex, but this is a promising start.
The open beta test for the game is starting up on May 25th. It’s going to be available for players on PlayStation and 5. However, it is a limited time test so this won’t be running forever. The test will rur through till June 1st for those who signed up ahead of time. We’ll likely see a wider release for the MHA Battle Royale eventually though! With the cast’s powers already appearing in Fortnite, it’s going to have to land on its feet to compare positively.
