Mortal Kombat is the latest franchise to get a fresh instalment soon. With anticipation building for new releases for loads of the biggest fighting game series, it’s been easy to forget that we’ve got a new Mortal Kombat game coming. Some recent leaks might have shown us a lot more of what we can expect with the title too, which is reportedly going to be called Mortal Kombat 1.
Mortal Kombat 1
The new Mortal Kombat was announced a little while ago but information has been pretty thin on the ground. That was until recently when a whole batch of information came out that supposedly reveals what we’re getting for the next Mortal Kombat. That starts with the news that the game is going to be a reboot.
The game, supposedly titled Mortal Kombat 1, will be setting the clock back to the very start. This has been teased in small clips by Mortal Kombat lately too. This would reset the lore and background of the games.

Alongside the title being a reset for the series, there were a few other details. One is that two potential DLC characters might be announced along with the reveal. Homelander and Peacekeeper from various superhero TV series are supposedly going to be in the cast for the game.

The platforms for the title are supposed to be revealed too. There are normal PC releases and new consoles like PS5 and Xbox. However, it seems the title will also be coming to Switch, which would be impressive. Most major titles are skipping the lower-powered hardware. Although it has some fighters, you won’t find Street Fighter 6 release on Switch. Mortal Kombat hitting every console is going to make sure everyone can play.
When Can We Expect the Reveal?
The Mortal Kombat 1 reveal has to be pretty soon. if this year release date is still to be believed. There are a few places the game could show up. However, it looks like it will be the Summer Games First. The Summer show for game trailers looks set to be the location where we get our first reveal. With such little space before release, we can expect to learn just how much of these leaks are true in the summer.
