Crash Bandicoot is one of the most iconic gaming protagonists, appearing in hit games across multiple generations of consoles. At the moment though, he’s never made it onto one of the top fighting games, Super Smash Bros.
While Crash is more associated with Sony, he’s long been appearing on other platforms and to many he’d be a great fit for the platform fighter. With DLC done though, is there any hope for a Crash Bandicoot Smash Bros Ultimate appearance?

Is Crash Bandicoot in Smash Bros Ultimate?
Crash Bandicoot in Smash might make a lot of PS1 fans happy but as of yet he’s not in the roster. The character has never been in any Smash games, despite a lot of fan requests and move set concepts!
Will Crash Bandicoot be in Smash?
Super Smash Bros Crash Bandicoot does seem like a fairly natural fit. He represents an area of gaming that doesn’t have the most representation in the Smash Bros tier list of characters. There isn’t any huge reason why he couldn’t be added.
Crash Bandicoot would join Sonic as a one-time rival to Mario to make it into Smash Bros Ultimate. However, the character isn’t included outside of fan mods at the moment. This likely just comes down to what characters the developers specifically want to include. Even the old argument of more him being more popular in the west doesn’t seem too applicable, with Ultimate specifically including quite a few characters more popular in the west.

Smash has managed to pull off including characters with much more complicated rights situations, like Sora in Ultimate. It’s unlikely that his inclusions isn’t down to any sort of rights situation, more just that he hasn’t quite made the cut so far.
Fan-Made Crash in Smash
Crash Bandicoot in Smash Bros Ultimate would definitely be fun. Fans have already made their own ways to show off the character. Some of his platforming moves seem tailor made for Smash, like his Spin attack. A pretty well polished fan made mod has gone the extra mile and made Super Smash Bros Crash Bandicoot playable in the game!
This mod is a nice moveset for the character that gives us a taste of what a potential Crash in Smash would be like! Outside of mods, players can try PlayStation All Star Battle Royale for a look at how Crash has done in a platform fighter officially in the past.

Only time will tell if Crash Bandicoot comes to a future Smash bros game. At the moment though, mods are the only way to experience Crash Bandicoot in Smash Bros Ultimate
