Tango Gameworks’ latest update for Hi-Fi Rush adds several additional quality-of-life features, including accessibility options for parrying and a collectible counter for each stage.
The first of the accessibility options, 2D Rhythm Game Assist, provides a wider window of success for timed inputs during Rhythm Games. These appear in places where the player has to activate Data nodes and can be tricky for some players to nail 100%. With this new assist turned on, even if players miss inputs, they will still be able to complete the Rhythm Game as long as they still hit 70% of the correct inputs.
The other accessibility option is the Auto Rhythm Parry, where players can press and hold down the button for the first action in a forced parry event in order to automatically parry or evade an action. Players can miss the initial action as long as they press and hold down the input for the next action. A 70% parry success rate is still needed to pass Rhythm Parry attacks, and players are still required to press or parry to the Beat Hit to strike the finishing blow on the enemy.
Both accessibility options are only available on Easy or Normal difficulty modes.
Additionally, the stage select screen now has a counter that tells players how many collectibles they found in each one. If a stage doesn’t have any, then it will show the number zero. A green checkmark is displayed if all collectibles were found in a particular stage.
Hi-Fi Rush has already received new features, such as a Photo Mode last month. The game has also hit the 2 million players milestone last month. In IGN’s Hi-Fi Rush review, we said: “Hi-Fi Rush marches to the beat of its own drum with stunning animation, loveable characters, and stylish rhythmic action that are anything but one-note.”
