Pokémon GO full raid schedule for August 2022 and how to conquer it

The raid schedule in Pokémon GO has changed with the calendar. Now that August has arrived, new one, three-star and Mega raids are now available in the mobile game.
The one-star Pokémon are not too difficult, but the three and Mega raids are much more challenging and will require some friends. Those raids are tough enough to beat, so it’s helpful to have an appropriate party of challengers able to take down each one.

Here’s the full list and how to defeat each Pokémon coming in August.

List of Pokémon showing up in raids in Pokémon GO

The Mega Raids will cycle much more frequently than one or three-stars. The first one, which is showing up now, is Mega Abomasnow. It will be around until August 10, when it will be replaced by a currently unknown Mega. Rumors suggest a Mega Scizor, but that is unconfirmed.

After the mystery Pokémon arrives, it will leave on the 18th. In its place will be Mega Slowbro. It will remain until the 25th, when Mega Ampharos makes its return.

Here are the one-star raids during that time:

Panpour
Roselia
Shinx
Sneasel
Unown S

The three-stars are as follows:

Chansey
Kirlia
Togetic
Whiscash

Here’s how to take all of them down.

Defeating each Pokémon in raids this month

One-star Pokémon

Panpour is Water-type, making it susceptible to Grass and Electric types. Try Raichu, Electrode (Hisuian is Grass/Electric), Manectric or Lilligant. To effectively take down Roselia, a Grass/Poison type, try Fire, Ice, Flying or Psychic moves. Pokémon such as Unown, Pidgeot, Charizard, Moltres and Alolan Ninetales for this one.
Shinx is Electric-type, so a Ground-type will make short work of it. Groudon, Hippowdon, Dugtrio or Rhyperior will do.
Sneasel is a Dark/Ice type. That means Fire, Rock, Fairy and Steel will do well. For maximum efficiency, try Togekiss, Incineroar or Golem.
Unown S, like all Unowns, is Psychic-type. Dark, Ghost and Bug types like Durant, Beedrill, Chandelure or Mismagius will take it down in no time at all.

Three-star Pokémon

Chansey is a Normal type, meaning Fighting is the best way to go. Blaziken, Throh, Machamp, Primeape, Falinks, Zamazenta or Lucario are great choices.
Kirlia is a Psychic/Fairy type Pokemon, so Poison, Ghost and Steel are effective. Try Gengar, Darkrai, Steelix, Registeel or Weezing against it.
Togetic is Flying/Fairy, so Rock, Electric, Ice and Steel are good choices. Try Onix, Electivire, Glaceon, Alolan Ninetales or Lycanroc.
Whiscash is a Water/Ground type. Grass types like Simisage, Meganium, Venusaur or Decidueye will make short work.

Mega Pokémon

Mega Abomasnow is a Grass/Ice type Pokémon. As such, it is weak to Fire, Bug, Fighting, Flying, Poison and Rock, with Fire being especially useful. That makes it easier to find a good party. Pokémon such as Charizard, Dragonite, Braviary, Rhyperior, Skuntank, Heatran, Blaziken (Fire/Fighting), Machamp or Sawk all good options against Mega Abomasnow.

If (a rather big if) Mega Scizor follows, then it would be a Bug/Steel type. This too is weak against Fire. Try Arcanine, Rapidash (Kantonian), Magmortar, Entei, Darmanitan (Unovan) and Heatmor excellent selections.

Mega Slowbro is Water/Psychic type. It’s weak to Grass, Electric, Ghost, Dark and Bug type moves. For an easy win, try Pokémon like Sceptile, Jolteon, Electivire, Darkrai, Umbreon, Durant, Gengar or Ampharos.

Finally, Mega Ampharos is an Electric/Dragon type, making it weak to Ground and Dragon attacks. Try Flygon for the most success, since it is a Ground/Dragon type. Others like Dragonite, Dugtrio and Hippowdon are good, too.
