World Series of Warzone 2022 Announced With $600k Prize Pool

Last year, the World Series of Warzone saw its inaugural season, and all things considered, it went quite well. It was the last time fans of Warzone really saw Verdansk in action, before the (somewhat dreaded) Caldera update dropped, bringing an entirely new map to the popular battle royale platform. Today, Activision has announced the World Series of Warzone 2022 tournament, which boasts a $600k prize pool and an open qualifying stage that allows any player to try out.

In the last few days, the World Series of Warzone website was taken offline – and now we know why. For the World Series of Warzone 2022 tournament, Activision is giving every single player the ability to sign up, compete, and qualify for their chance at winning a portion of the massive $600k prize pool. In 2021, the first season of the WSoW was held, featuring some of the hottest Call of Duty talent the world has ever seen, and this year will likely be no different.

Call of Duty: Warzone has had a tough year, that much is for certain. It has seen countless controversies, been plagued by hackers, and had a generally negative reception regarding the new Caldera map. However, Warzone 2.0 is on the horizon, there are whisperings that Verdansk may return in some way, and fans are finally getting excited about Warzone once again.

Now, with the World Series of Warzone 2022 event, fans can take their battle royale abilities to the next level. Presented by Prime Gaming, the WSoW 2022 will feature an open qualification path, allowing players from Europe and North American regions to flex their in-game skills and potentially earn a spot in the grand tournament. It’s as simple as following these easy steps:

Assemble a trio and sign up on GameBattles
Connect to the WSOW BR Trios on Warzone Pacific playlist

Only the top 40 trios will move on to compete in the regional qualifiers

Play in line with the rules, rank up the leaderboard and prove yourself against all the other teams

On the 20th of August, the EU qualifiers will take place, with the top forty qualifying teams doing battle. Then, on the 21st of August, the NA qualifiers will take place. Once those phases are over and done with, the final stages kick-off. At this point, the top twenty teams from each region will be joined by twenty invited trios. There will be a five-map bout to play out and a #SOLOYOLO event, but at the end, there will be two $300k prizes to be won.

Looking Back At The WSoW

Last year’s World Series of Warzone was completely different. It’s not yet known if there will be more events as we advance through 2022, but last year, there were several different categories that were played out across the EU and NA regions. It was a tournament that stretched out for several months, while this year’s tournament will last one month, all-in-all.

Furthermore, last year’s prize pool was much higher, totalling more than $1.2 million. While the World Series of Warzone 2022 event is much smaller, it promises to be just as exciting, and it gives the community the opportunity to step up and show what they’re worth.

The action commences on the 12th of August and will close following the final stages on the 7th of September. If you’re a fan of Call of Duty betting, keep your eyes open for those hot wagering opportunities.
