PSA: Forspoken Spoilers Have Leaked Onto the Internet

We have a warning for those who are excited to jump into the world of Forspoken on January 24 – Spoilers have unfortunately leaked onto the internet.

As it was with games like God of War: Ragnarok, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, and many more, spoilers leaking near a game’s release date are becoming ever more commonplace these days, so it’s important to mute keywords when you can and be careful where you go on the internet so you don’t accidentally stumble upon any of these leaks.

Eurogamer has noted that the opening hour has leaked online and, while bits and pieces of what those first few moments of gameplay hold have been previewed and discussed previously, developers usually hold back a few surprises or key story moments that they don’t want anyone to experience until the game is finally released.

Even more alarming was a report from DualShockers that said the final boss fight from Forspoken was leaked onto YouTube. Luckily, it was taken down by a copyright claim by Luminous Productions, but the damage was done and that information is now out there.

As we previously mentioned, Forspoken will be released on PlayStation 5 and PC on January 24. In our Forspoken preview, we said, “I’m fairly convinced that there definitely is enjoyment to be found in Forspoken, but its early chapters don’t seem like the place to consistently find it. The magical combat promises to develop and become more and more interesting over time, but whether that will be enough to overcome an uninspired script and the world it aims to bring to life remains to be seen.”

If you still aren’t sure whether you want to go on the journey Forspoken is offering, the game does currently offer a demo. For more on the game, check out six things to know before you play and learn all about Forspoken’s magic combat system.
