Red Bull Campus Clutch World Final kicks off with flawless 5-0 sweeps

The Red Bull Campus Clutch World Final, a big Valorant esports tournament for the collegiate scene, kicked off on Dec. 13 and featured some epic win streaks.

Incredible 5-0 sweeps at Red Bull Campus Clutch World Final

The global Valorant tournament for students kicked off with teams fighting for a place in the top 16, a chance at the €20,000 prize pool, and an exclusive experience at a 2023 Valorant Champions Tour (VCT) event.

Team Northwood from Northwood University in the United States and Narodni Garda from the Czech Republic started off strong by obtaining 5-0 sweeps across their groups.

“Today, we won our group stage with a comfortable 5-0,” Narodni Garda’s Michael Glancer said. “I think we did really well and adapted well on LAN. The staff around us was really helpful, which definitely boosted our focus level. I hope [we’re] gonna transform those performances into the playoffs and win the whole thing.”

As the day continued, Viva Hollandia from the Netherlands and OBK from Macedonia also went 5-0 in the group stage. Viva Hollandia players earned a flawless record by claiming victory over their opponents.

These wins mean that on Dec. 15, the teams will duke it out against eight other rosters in the next round of the Red Bull Campus Clutch World Final group stage. The grand final will happen on Dec. 16.

FURIA versus G2 Gozen showmatch

There will also be a showmatch happening on Dec. 16 between FURIA streamers and G2 Gozen. Just last month, G2 Gozen players won the VCT 2022: Game Changers Championship tournament as a team comprised of all women.
