The new chapter has begun, as players are eager to jump into the new island. Now with Fortnite’s new competitive feature, not only can you land at any location, but you can claim it as your own territory.
This feature will allow players to show off their claimed POI, while also rewarding them with quite a bit of loot. This triumph will not come easy though.
Here is everything you need to know about claiming your territory in Fortnite Chapter 4, Season 1.
Prepare your squad! Time to conquer your favorite location
Claiming a territory seems quite simple at first glance, but takes a bit of effort to complete. To do so, players will have to stay in a POI’s capture point long enough to take hold of the territory.
Once you have held down the POI for a certain amount of time, the location will be yours. Your team’s banners will be displayed for everyone who ventures to the territory to see.
Once claimed, loot will appear as a reward for you and your squadmates. Be careful though, other players will be looking to claim the POI just as fast as you do.
The territory is now yours… Here is what you have to do next
Once you claim the territory as your own, a few new features will appear. Since this land is now yours, you will be notified whenever an enemy enters it. Their location will be revealed, allowing you to snuff out anyone trying to hide.

This advantage allows players to hold their ground, but can only be done so by taking hold of the POI first.
Additionally, chests will also be marked throughout the location once claimed. This allows your team to loot the POI faster and more efficiently.
Be hastily though, other players will be competing with you to make this location their own. The perks are too good to have all for yourself!
