After much anticipation, Ubisoft announced that Skull and Bones will be released on November 8 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Google Stadia, and PC via the Epic Games Store and Ubisoft Store.
Skull and Bones was officially announced in 2017, though began development years before that. Based on the naval combat in Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag, Skull and Bones faced numerous delays, missing its initial 2018 release window and every subsequent year after that until now.
In Skull and Bones players will captain their own pirate ships. Accept contracts, gather resources, and sail the high seas while attacking merchant ships for loot. Different choices will influence a players’ journey while going up in the pirate ranks will open up new customization for your ships.
Set during the second Golden Age of Piracy, players can also team up with up to two friends and enable PvP to face opponents in the open waters. Check out everything you need to know about Skull and Bones including gameplay details and more here.
Ubisoft is promising a robust, multi-year post-launch roadmap with regular updates, new content, activities, stories, and challenges all for free.
Alongside the previously announced consoles, Skull and Bones will also be available on Ubisoft+ on PC, Stadia, and Amazon Luna. A premium Edition will include “The Ballad of Bloody Bones Collection” which features several cosmetic items for captains and ships as well two extra missions, digital art book and soundtrack, and a “Smuggler Pass” token.
Pre-orders will also unlock the “Highness of the High Sea Pack” which includes the “Notoriety Garb Captain Outfit” and “Coronation Firework.”
It’s been a long time coming but Skull and Bones is about to cross into our waters. Ubisoft also announced another Ubisoft Forward for this fall with more game announcements and updates.
