NRG continues its week-long Valorant roster reveal by introducing ardiis

NRG may have found their answer to Jaccob “yay” Whiteaker. After El Diablo, arguably the best Valorant player in the world, moved to Cloud9, many of his former OpTic Gaming teams signed with NRG. That left them without a dominating Chamber player. NRG decided to fill that void with former FPX superstar Ardis “ardiis” Svarenieks.

NRG goes with an import as its latest Valorant roster addition in the form of ardiis

Up until this point, every single member announced for NRG has been formerly of OpTic Gaming. The organization made it a priority to keep as much of that core together as possible. They started a week-long roster reveal, which has delivered the news of Chet “Chet” Singh, Pujan “FNS” Mehta, Austin “crashies” Roberts and Victor “Victor” Wong.

Each has a defined role, respectively, as the coach, in-game leader, Initiator and Duelist. While the latest addition was only labeled the “import” in the reveal video, it makes sense for him to play Chamber. Ardiis took on the role quite frequently with FunPlus Phoenix and will surely maintain his aggression and success there with NRG.

He is already familiar with the former OpTic players. FPX bested them on their way to a Masters Copenhagen championship. FPX pushed through the Lower Bracket and defeated OG in the Lower Bracket Final before overcoming Paper Rex in a five-map classic for the trophy.

There is still one starting roster spot left for NRG to announce after this confirmation of ardiis joining the team. Rightfully assuming he does take on the Chamber role, NRG will need a Controller. They still have Sam “s0m” Oh under contract. He could easily take on the Controller position if NRG chooses to retain him.
