DreamHack Atlanta FGC schedule features 12 different tournaments

DreamHack Atlanta is kicking off next week. Headline events like DH SC2 Masters and MTG are taking plenty of press, but there are also loads of DreamHack Atlanta Fighting game tournaments to note.

In recent years, the FGC offerings at DreamHack has expanded, and Atlanta is taking it even further. Twelve different tournaments promise to bring some of the top competitive players together with some even striding across multiple games.

DreamHack Atlanta Fighting Games

DreamHack Atlanta is a cross-esport major that brings diverse aspects of competitive gaming together. The event has tournaments that span loads of different games, but a hefty section dedicated exclusively to fighting games. The tournament has huge sponsors backing it, including Intel, Monster Energy, and more. This helps buff out the $39,000 prize pool, which is still impressive despite the wide range of games on offer.

All of the fighting game events are going to be held over November 18-20th, all taking place at the Georgia World Congress Center. These are all of the tournaments we can expect from DreamHack Atlanta fighting games:

Smash Bros

The Smash Bros tournaments at DreamHack are some of the biggest. There are prize pools here of $2,500 for Melee singles, $10,000 for Ultimate, and $1,000 each for doubles. The tournament is making a change this year though.

In previous years, DreamHack tournaments were often part of the Smash World Tour. Atlanta is going to be part of the Panda Global Circuit this time though. The top two non-qualified players will get access to the Panda Global Finale. Some of the biggest players are attending, including: DDee, Jake, ApolloKage, and Anathema.

For Melee, the prize pool is a little smaller but the event still promises to be an exciting one. This tournament also awards Panda Cup qualification alongside the prize money.

Two invites for Panda Cup Finale will be secured at DH Atlanta

Guilty Gear -Strive-

Guilty Gear -Strive- at DreamHack Atlanta has a prize pool of $5,000 at stake. It’s going to be played in a double-eliminated bracket. Some of the top players are here: Hotashi, Marvelo, and FlashMetrois. While there are other Guilty Gear games at DreamHack Atlanta fighting games, this is the big one.

Tekken 7

As one of the premier franchises, Tekken is a mainstay of DreamHack fighting game events. The Tekken 7 tournament here is pretty exciting. This is another double-elimination bracket tournament, with a $2,500 prize pool.

Street Fighter V

The Street Fighter 6 hype is building with more announcements like dynamic controls, but there’s still plenty of life left in SF V at least as far as tournaments go. Some decent players are going to be around, including: Justakid, Magnegro, lizardman, and Teiga.

King of Fighters XV

King of Fighters has a prize pool of $1,500, the same as Street Fighter. So far, we can expect to see Kizzie Kay, FKan, Boomcube, and Teiga competing in a second game at this one of the DreamHack Atlanta fighting games tournaments.

Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3

Marvel Vs Capcom 3 isn’t the most recent game at the event, but there’s still a lot of interest in seeing the top players compete in this title. There’s the same $1.5K prize here and a good roster of players fighting it out.

Guilty Gear Xrd REV 2

The second Guilty Gear game at the event is going to also feature $1,500 in prize money, playing as a double elimination event. Some of the same players are competing here too, like Hotashi, Kizzie Kay, and Solstice.

DNF Duel

DNF Duel is another Arc System Works present at DreamHack Atlanta. This one also has a $1.5k prize pool. Teiga is competing in this game alongside the others! The player is spread pretty thin but could pull off something impressive if he performs well at all of them.

Rushdown Revolt

Rushdown Revolt is probably the most leftfield pick at the event. This game came out last year and has been a bit of a quiet hit. it’s a Smash Bros-style platform fighter, but with a focus on combos. This will be a fun outing for a smaller fighting game.

Those are all of the events happening at DreamHack Atlanta. Fighting games are a huge part of this tournament, and players can see a great variety of games on show at the tournament.
