Intel Extreme Masters Beijing 2026 (IEM Beijing 2026) runs from Nov. 2 to Nov. 8.
This Counter-Strike 2 esports tournament includes two phases. In the first stage, all 16 participants are split into two groups and battle for only three playoff spots per group. The playoff matches happen in the arena, featuring battles for the $1,250,000 prize pool.
The winners secure a point in the ESL Grand Slam series, which is a hunt for the one-million-dollar reward!
Among top-tier teams, Vitality and Spirit are skipping IEM Beijing 2026. All the other powerhouses are here. FURIA dreams of their third consecutive win. NAVI is looking to prove their full recovery. Falcons should demonstrate their true power ahead of the Singapore Major. For MOUZ, it’s a decent chance to lift one more trophy this season.

Day 1, Nov. 2: Group openers

Analyzing groups and trophy contenders
Most of the tournament favorites were seeded into Group A, where we can witness matches featuring FURIA, NAVI, MOUZ, and Falcons. Group B should be a playground for MOUZ, with Aurora and G2 plotting their strikes.
Group A
Even the opening set here features a spectacular battle between NAVI and Falcons. Since their amazing success at the Cologne Major, Falcons have not won another tournament.
NAVI had a disastrous performance throughout the beginning of the Singapore Major season; only at PGL Masters Bucharest could they finally reach the playoffs. It is certainly time for them to prove their tier-1 status.
For FURIA, it’s a chance to stay on top right after winning the Thunderpick World Championship and PGL Masters Bucharest 2026.
Legacy is an interesting team to follow, as their results contrast from huge upsets at the EWC to lower placements at later events.
We haven’t seen this new version of FaZe at big tournaments too much, and IEM Beijing should showcase what the team is capable of.

Group B
It’s a group of the rising CS2 esports legends — if they can overcome the instability of their performance or prove the solidness of their most recent tournament results.
BetBoom Team had really powerful runs at two recent tournaments, Thunderpick World Championship and PGL Masters Bucharest 2026.
PARIVISION can go from reaching extremely high placements at big tournaments to not being able to qualify for final brackets.
Liquid fell into the abyss of lower-tier events, but we could see a glimpse of hope during PGL Masters Bucharest.
G2 Esports are right in the middle of a disastrous arc, not winning even one match at PGL Masters Bucharest.
Aurora are really decent contenders to climb to the top of Group B. Their refreshed roster has been demonstrating proper synergy in recent events.
MOUZ are hands down the group and tournament favorites. At PGL Masters Bucharest, they lost to FURIA but could still defeat Vitality.

Group stage results
During this stage, the IEM Beijing 2026 participants play through two double-elimination brackets.
In both groups, the upper semifinals are playoff qualifiers. Group winners advance directly to the playoff semifinals. Only one qualification spot is available via the lower bracket.
