Pokémon Pokopia Update Expands Ability to Move Pokémon Centers

Pokémon Pokopia has a new update available on Switch 2, which upgrades your ability to relocate Pokémon Centers.

It’s the latest set of tweaks (albeit, mostly bug fixes) added to Pokopia since it launched last month exclusively for Switch 2. The cosy sandbox game has been warmly received by fans and critics alike, and also been a notable sales hit for Nintendo, with more than 2.2 million copies sold so far.

This time around, Pokémon Pokopia update 1.0.4 has added the ability to move Pokémon Centers even while in-game events are underway, something which should prove useful as the game’s rollout of post-launch content continues. (Hey, at least those Hoppip are gone now.)

Other changes include a list of fixes for progression-blocking bugs in Bleak Beach. Problems that would cause Professor Tangrowth to stop appearing and other NPCs such as Peakychu to get stuck in town have also, thankfully, now been resolved.

Players have been pushing the game to its limits by building advanced creations including a working calculator, while others have leant into the series’ lore by finally hiding Mew under a truck. There’s even an official IKEA crossover.

For more on the game, check out our list of all the Pokémon in Pokopia, and take a look at our Things to Do First in Pokopia guide to make the most of your first few days. To help you get started, we’ve also got a list of 17 things that Pokopia doesn’t tell you, plus How to Raise the Environment Level and How to Raise Pokémon Comfort Level.

The full list of changes lies below:

Pokémon Pokopia update 1.0.4 patch notes:

We have implemented improvements to address the following issues:

  • You can now relocate Pokémon Centers while in-game events are underway.

Additionally, the following issues have been fixed.

  • In Bleak Beach, the request “Wanted: Food!” could not be progressed under certain conditions.
  • In Bleak Beach, performing certain actions would prevent the request “Pool repair needed!” from appearing.
  • In Bleak Beach, after completing the request “Pool repair needed!” it was sometimes impossible for the player to have Happiny accompany them.
  • In the Sparkling Skylands, during the request “Pokémon Center tour guide!” performing certain actions could prevent the player from having Tinkmaster accompany them, making the request impossible to progress.
  • Performing certain actions would cause Professor Tangrowth to stop appearing.
  • If certain Pokémon were waiting to appear, other Pokémon would sometimes also fail to appear.
  • Performing certain actions could make Peakychu, Chef Dente, and Tinkmaster unable to leave town, preventing requests from being progressed.
  • Under certain conditions, picking up a relocation kit (prepare) would leave behind indestructible platforms.
  • Accessing the Pokémon Center PC with certain save data would cause the game to freeze.
  • During in-game events, rebuilding a Pokémon Center using certain actions would cause its decorations to appear floating.
  • During in-game events, trades could not be conducted at the Pokémon Centers on Cloud Islands.
