Riot Games has announced a range of new features for League of Legends esports fans tied to the upcoming First Stand tournament.

Alongside revealing details about the event, Riot confirmed team revenue-sharing plans connected to a new Senna skin and expanded fan opportunities through official broadcast channels.

Warhound Senna will be available in League of Legends from March 18th to April 15th, with a portion of proceeds shared directly with LoL Esports teams. Players can purchase the skin on its own, as part of a border set bundle, or in a chroma bundle, with individual chromas also sold separately.

Riot has also confirmed that Twitch subscriptions will be part of the First Stand viewing experience. Fans watching through official LoL Esports channels will be able to subscribe, creating another revenue stream connected to the event.

Viewers on LoL Esports’ official website who log in with their Riot ID will remain eligible for Drops, including an exclusive Evelynn emote during the Finals.

According to Riot Games, Twitch subscription perks include:

  • Ad-free viewing
  • Event-exclusive Twitch chat emotes
  • Twitch channel badges
  • Channel points
  • Subscriber-only chat

Runeterra Fan Fest set for Finals day

First Stand’s Finals on March 22nd will also feature the Runeterra Fan Fest at the Visual Farm Gymnasium in São Paulo. The event will offer live viewing of the Finals, gameplay stations for Riot titles, cosplay appearances, and an Artist’s Gallery highlighting local creators.

According to Riot, tickets for the Fan Fest are free and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Members of the league development team are expected to attend and engage with fans.

Tournament Schedule and Format Confirmed

The First Stand Tournament will take place from March 16th to 22nd at the Riot Games Arena in São Paulo, Brazil. The competition will feature a Group Stage followed by a Knockout Stage, with every match played as a best-of-five series.

Major regions have already locked in most of their representatives:

  • LCK representatives: Gen.G and BNK FearX
  • LEC representatives: G2 Esports
  • LCS representatives: LYON
  • LCP representatives: Team Secret Whales
  • CBLOL representatives: LOUD

The LPL will finalise its teams shortly on March 7th.

LoL Esports Continues to Expand Revenue Options for Teams

The Warhound Senna release fits into Riot’s broader effort to build more stable revenue systems for professional teams. In recent years, the publisher has introduced revenue-sharing skins, event bundles, and digital content initiatives tied to major tournaments.

By linking in-game purchases and Twitch subscriptions directly to First Stand, Riot continues to test models that connect fan engagement with team support. If successful, similar programmes could remain a regular part of the LoL Esports calendar moving forward.

This revenue-sharing model offers clear benefits as it creates additional income streams for teams outside of sponsorships and prize pools. Moreover, it allows fans to feel more directly involved in supporting the competitive scene. At the same time, the system depends heavily on strong viewer engagement and cosmetic sales, which can fluctuate depending on interest in the event, the featured champion, and teams participating in the event.
