In celebration of Castlevania’s 40th anniversary, Konami has announced Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse, a new stylized 2D Castlevania game co-developed by Evil Empire and Motion Twin. It’s due out in 2026.
Konami says this is the first of the announcements to mark the series’ fourth decade in existence, which started way back on the original Nintendo Entertainment System and has gone on to become multiple successful and critically acclaimed adult animated series on Netflix.

Evil Empire is known for The Rogue Prince of Persia as well as the Return to Castlevania DLC for Dead Cells. Motion Twin, meanwhile, built Dead Cells.
