The 2026 Champion of Champions Tour (CCT) Global Finals is heading to Portugal to crown the champion of the Tier 2 Counter-Strike 2 esports circuit.

Eight teams will compete at Porto’s SAW Arena from April 23rd to 26th for a share of a $75,000 (~£54,506) prize pool.

Six of the eight teams will receive direct invitations to the Tier 2 event through March’s Valve Regional Standings (VRS) for Europe. The remaining two squads will be determined via the Parken Challenger Championship (PCC). The winners of the first two PCC LANs will qualify for the CCT Global Finals as wildcards.

The involvement of the PCC comes after a partnership between CCT operators GRID and New Breed Agency. The two parties have joined forces to connect the CCT’s online ecosystem with the PCC’s LAN circuit.

In addition to the $75,000 (~£54,506) prize pool, an additional $75,000 (~£54,506) will be split through the event’s club and player revenue-sharing initiatives.

Before the Global Finals take place, teams are competing across several online tournaments for Europe, the Americas, and Oceania. These events provide organisations with a platform to earn a place at LAN and climb the VRS ladder.

The Importance of Tier 2 Counter-Strike 2

Following Valve’s decision to integrate the VRS further into the Counter-Strike 2 ecosystem, the importance of Tier 2 events continues to grow.

With the top 32 teams from the global standings earning a place at the Major, several notable organisations have attended Tier 2 events in a bid to secure enough points to book their place at Counter-Strike 2’s tentpole tournaments.

The deal between GRID and New Breed Agency to align CCT and PCC circuits is another significant development in the Tier 2 ecosystem. On January 12th, fellow tournament organiser StarLadder joined forces with Stake to launch a dedicated circuit featuring six events taking place across Europe throughout the year.
