The League of Legends EMEA Championship (LEC) is kicking off this Saturday, releasing a hype video ahead of the start of the Spring Split.

The video, titled ‘Give me Chaos,’ features League casters Andrew ‘Vedius‘ Day and Daniel ‘Drakos‘ Drakos, as well as players from six of the 10 LEC teams: MAD Lions, Team Vitality, GIANTX, G2, Fnatic and Karmine Corp.

In particular, the French team Karmine Corp, which came second at First Stand and are the latest LEC champions, had a special feature in the bridge of the song before the last chorus.

The song even had mentions of popular anime Solo Leveling and esports personality Marc ‘Caedrel’ Lamont through his nickname ‘Sally’ and his ‘xdd’ emote, often used by his community during streams.

The video marks the return of a past tradition that saw LEC talents being involved in producing songs around upcoming competitions in the region. The 2025 Spring Split hype video is the first one since LEC Winter 2024, when Riot Games released ‘Everything We Got.’

Paired with the return of the weekly podcast EUphoria, the LEC team has increased its content standards once again. At the start of 2024, Riot Games was hit with a wave of layoffs, letting go of 11% of the global workforce. Among the affected, the company terminated 27 employees working directly on the LEC, which was likely an influencing factor in last year’s lack of content in the following splits.

LEC’s Music Video History: From Arcane to Rap Battles

Ever since the first music video back in 2020 titled ‘I Want the LEC Back,’ the EMEA broadcast talent has published several songs and teasers.

Prior to this split’s song, the LEC talents produced a total of eight songs, with ‘Wildfire’ recording over 4.1m views on YouTube. The song was made in collaboration with American rock band Against The Current. The other big hit was ‘Reckless with My Heart,’ a song published when European Legend Carl Martin Erik ‘Rekkles’ Larsson moved from Fnatic to rival team G2 Esports in what was considered one of the most shocking transfers in LEC’s history.

On top of releasing songs, casters have also worked on rap-focused segments. Known as ‘Mediocre Rap Battles,’ they were usually created around specific matchups or leading up to the playoff stages — one was even centered around Riot Games’ own animated series, Arcane. The most-watched video of this series was the one recorded for the 2020 LEC Summer Playoffs, which hit over 2.1m views.
