There are video game delays, and then there are video games that wander through the desert, searching for any sign of a release date. Avowed looks like the latest game to get hit with a delay—but, for one, it doesn’t seem like that’s a bad thing at all.
In his latest Notepad newsletter for The Verge, Tom Warren reported that Avowed, Obsidian’s new RPG originally scheduled to release this year, is getting pushed to early 2025. Usually, a sudden delay isn’t a great sign, or even worse, a sign of even more delays to come (cough, Skull and Bones, cough). According to Warren, however, this doesn’t seem to be the case for Avowed. If anything, it’s a delay that gives us hope for the game.
