Best Buy Has These Nintendo Switch Games on Sale for Cheaper Than Prime Day

It’s Prime Day, which means you can save a bunch of money on various items at Amazon. But while the online retailer has a decent number of Prime Day deals on Switch games, it’s sorely lacking in discounts on first-party Switch games published by Nintendo itself. We’re talking Mario. We’re talking Zelda. We’re talking Pokemon – the games you probably want to buy the most.

Thankfully, Best Buy is picking up the slack in that department. Right now, you can scoop up a number of excellent first-party Nintendo Switch games for $39.99 each. Most of them are available in both physical and digital formats at that price. Better yet, you don’t need a Prime account to take advantage of the deals. That’s pretty rad, so let’s take a look, shall we?

First-Party Switch Games for $39.99 at Best Buy

Pokemon Legends Arceus is a great big open-world take on the Pokemon franchise. It gives you an idea of what it would be like to wander through a world filled with Pokemon. Pikmin 4 is by far the most accessible game in the series about little alien creatures set loose on planet Earth.

Super Mario RPG is a terrific remaster/remake of the SNES classic that brings it up to date in all sorts of quality-of-life ways. Ditto Skyward Sword HD, which takes a Wii game that was so deeply dependent on Wiimote waggle that fans doubted we’d ever see it on another platform – and brings it to Switch. And you know what? It really works.

Other discounted games include Mario Striker: Battle League and Super Mario Maker 2. It’s basically just a bunch of excellent games on sale for the lowest we ever tend to see them. It’s a somewhat sad state of affairs, but in the Switch generation, first-party Nintendo games almost never drop below $39.99. Which makes now a great time to pick up any titles missing from your collection.
