Monster Hunter Wilds Crossplay Confirmed Alongside New Trailer

Capcom has confirmed Monster Hunter Wilds does indeed have crossplay across PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X and S.

In a post on the game’s website accompanying a new trailer released during Summer Game Fest 2024, Capcom said players will be able to match with other players across all available platforms. Meanwhile, crossplay can be enabled/disabled in the in-game options., and players can also become friends with other players across different platforms.

However, Monster Hunter Wilds does not support cross-save (cross-progression). Save data (game progress, paid DLC etc.) will be managed separately by each platform, Capcom confirmed. “For this reason, it will not be possible to share save data across the different platforms,” the company added.

Capcom said more information will be made available at a later date, and warned things may change given Monster Hunter Wilds is still in development.

Monster Hunter Wilds was first announced at The Game Awards 2023 alongside a trailer showing off its first new monster. Then, at a recent State of Play, we got another trailer showing off several more new monsters, as well as one of the game’s major biomes. Cool as the monsters are, fans are far more enamored with one of the new NPCs, Gemma the Smithy. In fact, fans love her so much they managed to get the game tagged as a “Dating Sim” on Steam, just because of her.

Monster Hunter Wilds is due out on Xbox, PS5, and PC via Steam at some point in 2025.
