The PUBG Mobile Global Championship 2022 is set to begin in November with top teams from around the world locking horns for a share of the $4 million PMGC prize pool and the title of world champions.
This year, more teams than ever will be able to compete, with Tencent announcing that there will be 48 spots in the league stage. PMGC will be split into a league stage and the grand finals. Here are the qualified teams so far and the slots distribution for the PMGC 2022.

In the league stage, 48 teams will compete across several weeks for 13 spots in the grand finals.

The most interesting thing in this table is that Bigetron RA failed to qualify at first, but are now have qualified for PMGC despite placing third at the PMPL Indonesia. This is because the first-placed team from Indonesia, Alter Ego, have received a direct invite to the finals as the host country.
There are two spots in the league stage which haven’t been announced yet. Fans have been speculating if these could be for Indian teams. However, PUBG Mobile’s Indian version BGMI was reportedly banned in the country recently for data privacy reasons.
It remains to be seen if Indian teams will be able to participate in the PMGC 2022. Last year, one team from the region received a direct invite to the grand finals.

PMGC Finals Slots Distribution
The 48 teams will compete across a long league stage, the format for which hasn’t been announced yet, for 13 spots in the grand finals.
The grand finals will be a LAN affair, taking place for the first time in Indonesia.
Besides the 13 qualified teams from the league stage, three teams have been directly invited to the grand finals. This includes China’s Team SMG, Indonesia’s Alter Ego, and one undisclosed team.
Team SMG has directly qualified for the finals for being the champions of the Peacekeeper Elite League (PEL) 2022 Summer season. It took place from June 16 to Aug. 21 in Shenzhen, China with $4 million on the line. Alter Ego, on the other hand, have been directly invited for being the host country.
PMGC Finals 2022 will be the first LAN event for the global championship
The PMGC 2022 will be the first LAN event for the global championship as the past two editions were affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. The 2020 PMGC Finals were supposed to take place in Dubai but were shifted online at the last minute after some players who had traveled to the Middle Eastern country tested positive for COVID-19.
The 2021 edition, on the other hand, was completely played online.
PMWI Afterparty Showdown
With the PUBG Mobile World Invitational (PMWI) earlier this year featuring a live audience in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, the LAN PMGC Finals will likely be open to an audience too. Tencent will likely provide more details about this closer to the event.
