German organisation GamerLegion has revealed that it is expanding its current partnership with online sportsbook brand LEON.Bet.
According to the announcement, the deal will see LEON.Bet work closely with GamerLegion’s Dota 2 roster.
GamerLegion wrote on X (Twitter): “We’re delighted to announce that LEON.Bet Esports extends their support of GamerLegion by working closely with our Dota 2 team.”
LEON.Bet became the official sportsbook partner of GamerLegion back in October 2025, bringing exclusive content and fan activations as part of the collaboration.
LEON.Bet has established a number of partnerships with various esports organisations. Back in 2024, it became the exclusive online betting house of Swedish esports organisation 9INE, and is also partnered with American organisation FlyQuest. Additionally, it recently renewed its partnership with SAW for the 2026 season.
It is not the first instance of betting brands branching out into esports. Teams like Astralis and Team Vitality have announced partnerships with online casino platform Stake. On the other hand, esports teams such as ECSTATIC have teamed up with the gambling blocking application Gamban to help those affected by gambling harm.
GamerLegion in Dota 2
GamerLegion made its debut in Dota 2 after signing the roster of Apex Genesis last November. Before joining the German organisation, the team competed in various events in the North America scene, from PGL Wallachia to FISSURE Universe.
GamerLegion has participated in various Tier-1 events since its arrival. During 2025, it finished 9th-11th in PGL Wallachia Season 6, and between 17th-21st in DreamLeague Season 27.
Since the start of 2026, it has placed between seventh and 10th for BLAST Slam VI, and between 13th and 14th for DreamLeague Season 28. However, the team was able to secure a spot in ESL One Birmingham 2026 after winning the North America Closed Qualifier.
After a chaotic 2026 start, the team now sets its sights on ESL One Birmingham, which is scheduled to take place from March 22nd to 29th, 2026. GamerLegion will play alongside 15 other teams to secure the lion’s share of a $1m (~£747,000) prize pool.
