Garena has announced the launch of the Free Fire World Series (FFWS) USA event, offering a pathway for teams in the United States to qualify for the 2026 Esports World Cup.
The inaugural event begins on March 6th with an in-game open qualifier determining which teams secure a place in the Group Stage, taking place from March 13th to 15th.
Free Fire World Series USA 2026 Format

Announced on March 4th, the Spring event is the first of three regional events that form the FFWS USA circuit running from March to November. The top six teams from the Spring tournament automatically qualify for the Summer edition, taking place in May. In August, the top six Summer teams earn a place in the Global Finals qualifier.
From the Global Finals qualifier, the top six teams move on to the Winter tournament, with the winner advancing to the FFWS Global Final taking place in November.
The FFWS USA Spring tournament Group Stage, beginning on April 4th, sees 24 teams split into four groups of six and compete in three matches each day. The top 18 teams advance to the Knockout Stage, which determines the 12 teams advancing to the Grand Final on April 19th.
The Grand Final sees the remaining teams competing using the Champion Rush format. Normal rules are enforced until one of the eight teams reaches a specific points threshold to earn Champion Rush Point. The first eligible team to secure a Booyah is crowned champion.
The Growth Of Free Fire Esports
Over the past 12 months, Garena has bolstered its efforts to expand the Free Fire esports ecosystem across the world, with a significant investment in the United States.
The FFWS USA circuit is unlike any other Free Fire circuit taking place in other regions, with four seasons instead of two. Alongside the four seasons, Garena plans to focus on online qualifiers and grassroots initiatives to expand the title’s presence in the region.
